Our Story
After giving birth to her son in 2013, our founder Shovon Stephanie Wiggan was visiting a lot of toy stores and found a small selection of diverse, multicultural dolls but no ethnic dolls that were best friends in stores. She noticed there was a bigger gap to fill in the toy market: one that can relate and cater for EVERY child.
A few months later, her 5 year old niece Nyah revealed that she was not comfortable or confident with her beautiful chocolate skin. Combining the lack of diversity in the doll market and the need to promote healthy self-esteem in children, this inspired Shovon to create her brand-new doll range, thus INSPIRE-A-DOLL was born. Our societal goal is all about loving the skin you are in. We are creating a community of motivated children who have the courage to influence the world and make their mark.
INSPIRE-A-DOLL’s energy for self-discovery, new cultures and celebrating individuality is a fresh concept.
Our social mission is all about loving the skin that you are in. Every element of society should reflect our society and INSPIRE-A-DOLL is attacking the social issue of diversity and equality in a fun educational way.
We are building a united community of children who stay inspired, enabling them to have confidence to shape the world and make their mark.
